Early tip for 2007

Let's face it, a lot of the unsigned bands in the world are unsigned for a reason. I mean we all love discovering new bands before they get sucked in to the corporate machine, but most of the time that's either already happened at some level, or the act is just not good enough. So it always cheers me up when a band comes along with great songs and a great sound, who haven't yet been snapped up by a label.

Saturna
is that band, a trio from Portland, Oregon who blend the reverb-drenched space-rock drone of bands like Serena Maneesh and Autolux with sparkly pop harmonies - an unlikely combination but it really works. A brief search through the blogs shows that they've been impressing people across the blogosphere. If you've seen their name around, and have been wondering whether or not to have a listen to them, think no more. Click on the links below, visit their website or MySpace page and 'get 'em while they're hot'. You won't regret it.
